Cold Spring Brewery https://www.capemay.com/play/cold-spring-brewery/ Mon, 19 Feb 2018 18:12:45 +0000 http://www.capemay.com/play/?p=1516 Good beers for a great cause! New Jersey’s first non-profit microbrewery. The brewery supports Historic Cold Spring Village, an open air living history museum.

In early 2014, the HCSV Foundation Board of Trustees voted unanimously to pursue the development of a small brewery on the Village grounds with the name Cold Spring Brewery. To this end, and in keeping with the mission of the Historic Cold Spring Village, an 1804 three bay English-style Cape May County barn from Upper Township was purchased. Stillwell and Elizabeth Corson, a familiar name in the County, built the classic building. Permission to restore and reconstruct the barn, board by board, and place it on Village property was received from both the Lower Township and County of Cape May Zoning Boards along with approvals to utilize the barn in connection with the proposed brewery.

Although the barn/brewery is located outside the Village fencing, it remains part and parcel of the 30 acres that are located between Seashore Road and Route 9 in Cold Spring, containing 27 restored historic structures. Funding for the project was secured through HCSV Foundation’s fundraising events, donations, memberships, retail sales, corporate sponsorship for programs and gate revenue. Its purpose is to stabilize the museum for future generations to enjoy.

Cape May Brewing Co. https://www.capemay.com/play/cape-may-brewery/ Mon, 09 Nov 2015 21:41:19 +0000 http://www.capemay.com/play/?p=111 Since opening in 2011, Cape May Brewing Company has become a must-visit destination for beer lovers and tourists exploring the Jersey Shore. As one of the most successful and well-loved businesses on the Cape, it has played a leading role in the region’s craft beer revolution. Just six miles from downtown Cape May, the brewery spans nearly 90,000 square feet at the Cape May Airport and boasts the largest beer selection of any tasting room in the state.

With 23 taps pouring everything from flagship favorites like Cape May IPA, Coastal Evacuation Double IPA, Always Ready Pale Ale, and Cape May White to a rotating lineup of 20 seasonal, small-batch, and limited releases, there’s always something new to try. The original brewing space is now dedicated to experimental creations, including sour beers and barrel-aged brews, while a separate industrial facility keeps the flagship production running strong.

Step into the Tasting Room and immerse yourself in the interactive, self-guided tour designed in the lively style of the Wildwood boardwalk. Play games, snap fun photos, and discover the fascinating journey from grain to glass. Enjoy a flight of four beers with a souvenir glass or sip on a full pint of your favorite brew while taking in the expansive indoor seating area, rooms surrounding the sour facility, or the attached Beer Garden.

Before heading out, stop by the Brewtique gift shop to grab some beer to-go in cans or growlers and explore the latest collection of apparel and accessories. While New Jersey law prevents production breweries from serving food, visitors are welcome to bring their own. Whether you’re kicking off your Cape May adventure or wrapping up a perfect beach getaway, Cape May Brewing Company is a can’t-miss stop for great beer, good vibes, and an authentic taste of the Jersey Shore.
