Cape May Restaurant Week is an eight-day event that takes place every June! Enjoy an appetizer, entree, and dessert for a fixed price at participating restaurants.

Our four-day Cape May Restaurant Weekend takes place in the fall, usually in October or November. Like our June event, Restaurant Weekend features three-course, fixed-price menus.

To take part in either event, visit any participating restaurant. See days/times on our event website. No tickets are required, but we recommend reservations where available.

Fourth of July https://www.capemay.com/play/fourth-of-july/ Fri, 05 Jan 2018 00:28:39 +0000 http://www.capemay.com/play/?p=1451

The Fourth of July kicks off the summertime in Cape May and is a busy time of the year! Expect crowds, especially the evening of the fireworks show.

Independence Day Parade

Cape May’s Independence Day Parade usually takes place on the Saturday closest to July 4th and runs along Beach Avenue.

Cape May City Fireworks

Cape May’s annual fireworks display takes place on July 4th, weather permitting. Firework launch across from Congress Hall, from a barge a quarter-mile offshore. Enjoy a fantastic view of the show from the beach, promenade, or any property facing Beach Avenue.

In the event of rain, fireworks may be rescheduled or canceled.

If you come by car, plan to arrive early or sit in traffic for a while. Parking can be hard to find. Once the fireworks are over, it’s congested along Beach Avenue and the promenade — a good opportunity to grab some ice cream and wait out the crowds!

Lower Township Fireworks

If you’ll be bayside (Lower Township, including North Cape May & Villas), you can generally look for fireworks the day before or after Cape May City’s. Pick a spot on the beach. We recommend a chair or towel since the sand can be chilly after sunset! It can get crowded, so expect to park and walk a couple blocks.

The Christmas season is a particularly beautiful time of the year in Cape May. The Washington Street Mall is dotted with lights, greenery, and decorations, and many of the historic homes and hotels around our town decorate in unique ways.

Christmas in Cape May FAQs

When will Cape May be decorated for the holidays?

There isn’t a specific date that holiday lights go up and come down, but the town is decorated by the Christmas Parade (the first Saturday in December) and decorated into the new year.

What accommodations are open year-round?

We indicate year-round hotels, year-round B&Bs, and year-round guest houses with a calendar icon so you can easily identify them. Staying longer than a few days? Another accommodation option is to rent a house or condo.

What restaurants and shops are open at Christmas?

Most shops and restaurants are open through the holiday season, with extended shopping hours closer to Christmas.

There are restaurants that serve on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day, but many will be closed, so please call ahead to make sure your favorite will be open.
